Evidence-Based Support for Calm, Confident Births

The name Hera & Haven weaves together the divine strength of Hera, the ancient goddess of women, birth, and motherhood, with the comforting refuge of a haven. It represents the balance of power and peace, offering families a sacred, supportive space during one of life’s most transformative journeys. This practice stands for informed care, fierce advocacy, and a nurturing presence every step of the way.
Hi, I’m alex peters
- your doula!
As a doula, I support the full arc of motherhood with evidence-based care and heartfelt presence. My training equips me to guide families through every phase—from birth to the tender early days of postpartum—but it's my deep belief in the power of community that called me to this work.
Birth is more than biology—it is a sacred rite of passage, a crossing into the ancient lineage of motherhood. My own unmedicated birth awakened something in me: the realization that motherhood was never meant to be done alone. Matrescence—the becoming of a mother—is too often overlooked in a culture that rushes us through the sacred. I became a doula because I saw the village disappearing, and I knew I wanted to help rebuild it.
Now more than ever, parents deserve guidance rooted in trust, connection, and compassion. I’m here to walk beside you—through the questions, the milestones, the messy middle—because you’re not just bringing a baby into the world. You’re birthing a new version of yourself, and that deserves to be honored.
